Fees and FAQ
The terms, stated plainly, before you sign anything.
What each programme costs is below, in rands, along with what that figure does and does not cover. The terms after it apply to every student, and they are the same ones printed on the registration form.
Fees for 2026
What each programme costs, per month.
Fees are paid monthly in advance, so that is how they are shown here, with the full-year total underneath each one. Every figure is for full tutoring support — a real person teaching the work, tracking progress and answering to you — not a login and a set of videos. Programme licence fees are passed on at cost, with nothing added.
My Online School
From R3 175
a month, with all subjects, assessments and tutoring included
R38 100 over a full year
Will not do: Take a student through to matric. It stops at Grade 10 and you will need a route to finish.
CambriLearn CAPS
From R2 250
a month, tutoring and the programme licence together
R27 000 over a full year
Will not do: Let a student sit the final exams sooner than the national calendar allows. A student who is ahead still waits.
GED
From R3 725
a month, with the programme licence and all four exams included
R44 700 to finish, usually inside a year
Will not do: Give matric exemption. On its own it will not open a bachelor’s degree at a public South African university.
Fees shown are for 2026 and reviewed annually. They are payable for all twelve months of the year, not only during terms. CambriLearn CAPS students pay SACAI examination fees separately in the matric year, passed on at cost; the GED figure already includes all four exams.
A standalone service
SAQA evaluation help, from R500
Already hold a GED and need a Certificate of Evaluation before a college will accept it? We will make sure the application is compliant first time, so your fee is not forfeited. You do not need to be a Nova student.

Not for the GED. No prior achievements are necessary and we do not need a record of previous grades passed. For the other programmes we simply need to know the last grade completed so we can place the student sensibly.
Students can enrol all year round. There is no term you have to wait for, because the programmes are self-paced rather than timetabled.
Zoom lessons are available wherever you are situated, at a time which suits you. Many of our students never set foot in the centre.
Yes. Many students who have done the programmes by themselves come to us specifically to be prepared for the final exams, and that is a service we are glad to provide.
As matric-level, yes. SAQA has evaluated the GED and found the National Senior Certificate to be its closest comparable qualification, at NQF Level 4 with 130 credits, so employers, technical colleges and colleges accept it. What it does not carry is matric exemption, which is a separate thing and the point most providers gloss over. See the next question.
Not on the GED alone. Universities South Africa stopped issuing Foreign Conditional Exemption to South African GED holders from 2020, and every public university requires a matriculation exemption for degree study — that is law, not preference, and no institution can waive it. There are four working routes past it: straight into a degree at Boston City Campus, a one-year Higher Certificate followed by complete exemption and then any university, mature age exemption from 23, or an online degree with an international university. The GED programme page sets all four out with costs and timelines. If a public South African university on the normal timeline is the goal, CambriLearn CAPS is the more direct route and we will say so.
Often yes. Most colleges and many employers want a SAQA Certificate of Evaluation before they will accept a GED, because it is a foreign qualification. It is worth taking seriously: SAQA screens every application for compliance, and where an application is found non-compliant the fee is forfeited and you get thirty calendar days to fix it. We run this as a standalone service from R500 — you do not have to be a Nova student to use it, and we will tell you if you do not need it at all. See the SAQA evaluation help page.
Sixteen or older to start the programme, and seventeen to write the exams. An identity document is required to sit the exam.
The subscription runs for one year. If the student is not finished, a new subscription is paid and no work is lost.
Yes. The CAPS programme through CambriLearn is offered in both Afrikaans and English, and as an affiliate we pass on a 50% discount to every student from Grade 1 to Grade 9.
A laptop of your own and a connection. We provide internet connections for full-time students at the centre.
Exams are external. CambriLearn staff mark tasks and exams for the CAPS programme, with final exams written through SACAI. GED exams are written at accredited testing centres around the country.
