Where we teach

In Lydenburg in person. On Zoom everywhere else.

Our centre is on Church Street in Lydenburg, and students from town work here full-time. But the teaching on every programme is video-based to begin with and the live tutoring runs over Zoom, so the building is optional and the province is not a limit.

Three ways to work with us

Not everybody needs the same thing.

Worth knowing which of these you are asking about before you phone, though we are happy to work it out on the call.

Lydenburg and Mashishing

Full-time at the centre

The student works through their programme on site, with staff on hand. We provide the internet connection for full-time students; students should bring their own laptop.

Anywhere

Full-time from home, on Zoom

The same programme, wherever you are. Lessons are video-based and replayable; the live tutoring happens over Zoom at a time arranged around the student — including early, late, or around a job.

Anywhere

Exam preparation only

Already enrolled elsewhere and doing fine on the material, but worried about the paper? Use us for the last stretch only. You do not have to move or re-enrol anything.

Across Mpumalanga

The districts, and what tends to be the problem in each.

Grouped honestly rather than padded out. Where a town has the same situation as its neighbour, it is a name on a list and nothing more.

Thaba Chweu

Our home ground, and the only part of the province where full-time in person is simple.

  • Lydenburg
  • Mashishing
  • Sabie
  • Graskop
  • Ohrigstad

The centre is on Church Street in Lydenburg. Students from town come in and work here full-time, with staff on hand for the moment a concept will not land. From Sabie or Graskop the Long Tom is a beautiful drive exactly twice and then it is just a drive, so most families that side work with us remotely.

Nkangala

Mining and industry, which means families who move mid-contract and children who pay for it in half-finished school years.

  • eMalahleni
  • Witbank
  • Middelburg
  • Belfast
  • eMakhazeni
  • Machadodorp
  • Dullstroom
  • Delmas

A transfer in the middle of a school year is the single most common reason a capable student loses a year. Because enrolment with us is open all year and the programmes are self-paced, a move does not have to cost anything but the packing.

Ehlanzeni

A big district with very uneven school access once you leave the N4.

  • Mbombela
  • Nelspruit
  • White River
  • Hazyview
  • Barberton
  • Malelane
  • Komatipoort
  • Bushbuckridge

Mbombela and White River have real options. Thirty minutes out of them, a particular subject combination can mean an hour in the car each way. That drive was never the educational part.

Gert Sibande

Long distances, small towns, and thin options past Grade 9.

  • Secunda
  • Ermelo
  • Bethal
  • Standerton
  • Piet Retief
  • Carolina
  • Volksrust

Students here are usually with us entirely over Zoom, and a good number of them are adults finishing a qualification around shift work. Sessions are booked around the roster rather than the other way round.

Across the boundary

The provincial line is not a limit — Zoom does not know where it is.

  • Steelpoort
  • Burgersfort
  • Roossenekal
  • Gauteng
  • Anywhere with a connection

Families on the Limpopo side of the mining belt use us routinely. So do families who have moved to Gauteng and would rather keep the tutor who already understands how their child learns than start again with a stranger.

Not on the list? It almost certainly does not matter. If you have a laptop and a connection good enough for video, we can teach your student — and if the connection is patchy, say so upfront and we will plan the week around offline work rather than pretending the problem is not there. There is more on how a live session actually runs in what a Zoom lesson at Nova looks like.

Tell us where you are.

The age, the last grade completed, and the town. We will tell you which programme fits, whether to come into Lydenburg or work over Zoom, and roughly what it costs.
